The order was issued in response to a petition moved by Balabhaskar's father. At present, the case is being investigated by the CBI.
The violinist's family has raised several complaints alleging a conspiracy behind the accident that killed Balabhaskar. The Local Police and Crime Branch also faced criticism for “lacklustre investigation.”
Balabhaskar's father opposed the police's finding that it was a mere accident, which later paved the way for a CBI probe.
The family alleged that investigation agencies failed to consider their suspicions. Following this, Balabhaskar's father moved to the High Court seeking further probe in the case.
On September 25, 2018, while returning from a temple, violinist Bhalabhaskar and his family were involved in a car accident. His daughter died on the spot, while Balabhaskar died later on October 2.
