Kozhikode: In a tragic incident, a 8-month-old infant died after a bottle cap got stuck in the throat. The deceased, identified as Mohammed Ibad, son of Nisar, a resident of Pokkunnu.
The infant, who had the bottle cap stuck in his throat, was rushed to Kottaparambu Hospital on Monday night. Unfortunately, he died before reaching the hospital. The body of the infant was subsequently shifted to the Medical College Hospital mortuary.
Following the incident, Nisar filed a complaint with the police, claiming foul play. The Kozhikode Town police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to Nisar, his son had suffered an injury two weeks ago after falling from an autorickshaw. He also alleged that his first child had died under similar circumstances, choking on breast milk just 14 days after birth. Both incidents, he claimed, happened at his wife's house, raising suspicions about the deaths.
