Police urge motorists to clear the route as the organs of the 10-month-old donor are transported to Thiruvananthapuram to save multiple lives.

Kochi: The organs of 10-month-old Aalin Sherin Abraham, who was declared brain dead following a road accident, will be transported by road from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram. The organ retrieval surgery was completed at a private hospital in Kochi. Police have sought the cooperation of the public to ensure smooth passage for the ambulance bearing registration number KL 07 DF 3177, which is carrying the organs.
The ambulance will travel via Kunnumpuram, Edappally, Vyttila, Kundannoor, the Edathala Mini Bypass, Tripunithura, Puthenkavu, Ettumanoor, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Adoor, Kottarakkara, Kilimanoor, Venjaramoodu and Kazhakkoottam before reaching KIMS Hospital.
The accident occurred at around 2.30 pm on February 5 near the Pallam Borma Kavala junction on the MC Road. The critically injured child was initially admitted to hospitals in Changanassery and Thiruvalla. She was later shifted to Amrita Hospital in Kochi on the night of February 6 for specialised treatment. Despite intensive efforts by doctors, her life could not be saved, and brain death was confirmed on the previous afternoon.
