Alappuzha: Austrian wakeboarder and Red Bull athlete Dominik Hernler wowed spectators in the backwaters of Alleppey by leaping over 500 people arranged in five snake boats. Partnering with Volkswagen, Hernler showcased his wakeboarding prowess throughout the week.

Organisers noted that the challenge was to jump over the massive snake boats, a feat never attempted before. Hernler began by easily clearing two boats, impressing onlookers with his precise control. Undeterred, he then upped the ante by adding two more boats, successfully jumping over four with style and finesse, according to the release.

The video of the remarkable stunt quickly went viral on social media. The climax of the challenge came with the addition of a fifth boat, bringing the total to nearly 500 people aboard. In a stunning display of skill and bravery, Hernler flawlessly cleared all five boats, finishing with a celebratory backflip into the waters of Alleppey.

Hernler's daring performance not only highlighted his exceptional talent but also drew international attention to Kerala's scenic beauty and cultural heritage. Reflecting on his time in Alleppey's backwaters, Hernler expressed his excitement and joy. 

“There are many experiences I will cherish. I enjoyed spending time with the people here, and while wakeboarding through the backwaters was incredible, my favourite part was definitely jumping over the snake boats," he said. PTI
