Major Kerala train services, including Thiruvananthapuram and Rajya Rani Express, face diversions and cancellations on May 7 due to track maintenance.

Thiruvananthapuram: Railway authorities have announced major changes to several train services scheduled for Thursday, May 7. Due to essential track maintenance work in the Palakkad and Madurai railway divisions, several key routes have been diverted or cancelled.
Key diverted services
The following trains will be diverted via Alappuzha instead of their usual Kottayam route:
- Thiruvananthapuram Express (16348)
- Amritha Express (16344)
- Rajya Rani Express (16350)
For the convenience of passengers, additional stops have been provided at Ernakulam Junction, Alappuzha and Ambalappuzha stations.
Cancellations and short terminations
- Shoranur Junction – Nilambur Road MEMU (66325): Services are fully cancelled on the following dates: May 10, 17, 24 and 31.
- Thiruvananthapuram North – Nilambur Road Rajya Rani Express (16349): On May 09, 16, 23 and 30, this service will terminate at Shoranur Junction instead of continuing to Nilambur.
Other route diversions
The following services will be diverted via Madurai, Manamadurai and Virudhunagar:
- Palakkad Junction – Tiruchendur Express (16731): On May 7, 11, and 14.
- Tiruchendur – Palakkad Junction Express (16732): On May 8 and 13.
