Official facilities of the campus radio station, Radio CU, were allegedly 'misused' for the making of the video.

Kozhikode: A lecturer at Calicut University has been served a memo following allegations that she campaigned for LDF candidate M Swaraj during the Nilambur Assembly by-election.
The memo was issued to Dr Sreekala Mullasseri, an assistant professor at the university, after an internal inquiry found that her actions amounted to a violation of service rules. It is alleged that during the by-election period, Dr Mullasseri created a video appealing for votes in favour of Swaraj.
The university further alleged that official facilities of its campus radio station, Radio CU, were misused in the making of the video. According to the university authorities, the use of institutional resources for political (campaigning) constitutes a breach of established regulations.
Following these findings, the university decided to issue a formal memo to the lecturer. The notice directs the faculty to submit a written explanation to the Vice-Chancellor within 15 days.
The matter is expected to be reviewed further after the lecturer submits her response.
