Assam man held in Kaipamangalam for spreading religious hatred online and attempting to buy AK-47

Kaipamangalam (Thrissur): A young man from Assam has been arrested in Kaipamangalam for circulating content online that promoted religious hatred. The individual, identified as Roshidul Islam (25), a native of Morigaon in Assam, was taken into custody by a special investigation team led by Thrissur Rural District Police Chief B. Krishna Kumar.
Islam has been employed at a pandal-making company in eastern Chenthrapini for the past two years. His arrest followed a raid on Tuesday morning after authorities received a tip-off regarding his activities.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Islam maintained constant communication with his uncle in Bangladesh via phone and with certain individuals in Pakistan through Facebook Messenger.
Reports suggest he attempted to procure AK-47 rifles from Pakistan. Authorities are now conducting a detailed investigation into his overseas contacts and his efforts to incite unrest.
