Thiruvananthapuram: The talks held by ASHA workers with Health Minister Veena George also failed. ASHA workers have announced that they will continue their strike. Their talks with the NHM Director on Wednesday had also failed earlier today. 

The discussions, which took place in the wake of the state government's financial challenges, failed to address any of the workers' key demands. While the Health Minister's call for talks had raised some hopes among the ASHA workers, those hopes were quickly dashed.

In response, the workers expressed frustration, stating that if meaningful progress had been made during the talks, there would have been no need for the prolonged negotiations. "The Chief Minister is acting as though no matter what we do, the state will not grant us anything," one worker remarked. However, they made it clear that they will continue to fight for what they are entitled to, no matter the obstacles.

The government initiated the talks after the strike reached its 38th day. The primary demand of the ASHA workers is an increase in their honorarium. In addition, they are seeking pension benefits and the payment of arrears owed to them. Despite the setback in talks, the workers have vowed to keep pushing for their rights.
