Thiruvananthapuram: VS Achuthanandan, who is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, and his wife K Vasumathi received heartfelt wedding anniversary wishes from their son VA Arun Kumar, who is also the temporary acting Director of IHRD.

Arun Kumar shared a touching Facebook post, along with an old photograph of his parents, to mark the occasion. “Years! Today is my parent’s wedding anniversary… Amidst the pain that crises bring, the awakenings of love and hopes…” he wrote in the post.

The veteran leader, who is 101 years old, was admitted to hospital following a heart attack. He is also facing other age-related health issues that have been troubling him for some time. For the past several years, Achuthanandan has been leading a quiet retired life.
