Kothamangalam (Ernakulam): Arjun Ayanki was brought to Kothamangalam from Kannur on Friday night as part of the investigation into a case in which he allegedly challenged and threatened two police officers in Kothamangalam. Ayanki, who was produced before the Kothamangalam magistrate, was remanded in custody until Monday. He will be produced before the Kothamangalam court by Monday afternoon. Police will seek his custody on Monday for further investigation and evidence collection. A five-day custody application has been filed.
The investigation includes questioning Ayanki, collecting his voice samples, taking him to Kannur for evidence collection, and recovering devices, including the mobile phone he allegedly used, to gather evidence.
The case involves allegations that Ayanki threatened Kothamangalam SHO KR Prashanth Kumar through social media and challenged the investigating officer, Oonnukal SHO BS Adarsh, through Instagram. Kuttampuzha SHO A Shine Kumar is leading the investigation.
On May 3, Ayanki and five others were arrested from a homestay in Punnekad in connection with a criminal conspiracy case and were later released on bail.
The court subsequently cancelled his bail after he allegedly violated the bail conditions by threatening the SHO. Three cases have been registered against Ayanki at the Kothamangalam and Oonnukal police stations.
