Thiruvananthapuram: On Friday, it turns exactly one year since the photo of this tiny tot was published in Mathrubhumi daily. It was the advertisement given by Sisu Kshema Samithi (Kerala State Council for Child Welfare) before giving the child away for adoption. The child was found abandoned in 'Ammathottil'. The baby boy is suspected to be Anupama’s child as her baby was handed over to Sisu Kshema Samithi by her relatives.
The advertisement shows that the baby boy was found at around 12.30 at night on October 22 last year. The council has given the boy the name ‘Sidharthan’. Anupama gave birth to her baby on October 19. Anupama’s complaint states that the baby was taken from her on the third night. Another baby had also been found at Sisu Kshema Samithi that day. That baby was named ‘Pele’ and was found at six in the evening as per the records of the council.
The advertisement states that if anyone has any documents proving their parenthood of the child, they have to be present before the council with the proof within 30 days. If no such person comes forward within that period, the child will be declared orphan as having no relatives and steps for adoption will be initiated. The advertisement had been issued in the name of the district Child Protection Officer.
As per Anupama's statement her parents took all measures to prevent her from seeing the advertisement.
