Kasaragod: VPP Mustafa, former private secretary of CPM leader and minister M B Rajesh, responded to allegations raised against him by Cherian Philip.

Earlier, Cherian Philip had come forward, demanding that the CPM leadership clarify the reason for the resignation of VPP Mustafa, who was the private secretary of MB Rajesh, a few months ago. Philip alleged that Mustafa was removed from the post due to his misguided relationship with some bar owners in Malabar.

Responding to the allegations, VPP Mustafa said that CPM does not have the habit of condoning corruption within the party, and he is still a member of the district committee of the party.

"Cherian Philip's allegations are baseless. The CPM does not have the habit of condoning corrupt people within the party. I am still a member of the district committee of the party. I was transferred from that position in view of the election activities in the Kasaragod district. I played an important role in the election campaign in Kasaragod. There is a planned campaign to keep the Excise Minister's office in the dark over the bar  controversy," said Mustafa.

VPP Mustafa also asked whether Cherian Philip, who was on the left front for some time, did not know that the party would not tolerate corrupt people.
