A total of 16 women employees managed the station’s operations, expressing immense pride and delight in working together

Thrissur: On International Women’s Day, the Thrissur Railway Station highlighted "women power" by deploying an all-female shift on Sunday. A total of 16 women employees managed the station’s operations, expressing immense pride and delight in working together.
The team on duty included Station Superintendent K Jayasree; S Geetha, K Divya and V Sona in Reservation and Booking, M Sonima at the Information Centre and Rohini R Menon and A Vidya in the Parcel Office. They were joined by three Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers and six cleaning staff members.
Station Superintendent K Jayasree remarked that while these tasks are part of their daily routine, she felt a profound sense of pride in her identity as a woman employee. A Vidya from the parcel office added that there is no greater joy than the financial independence earned through one's own hard work. RPF Officer Shruti Satheesh noted that their roles do not distinguish between men and women, and noted that highlighting such an idea for Women's Day was a great move.
The concept was proposed by Station Manager CM Philipose, which the staff embraced it wholeheartedly. Deputy Station Manager (Commercial) KR Ramkumar coordinated the necessary arrangements to make the initiative a success.
