Alappuzha: Kerala Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) caught
Alappuzha district tourism information officer red-handed while he was receiving Rs 2,000 bribe on Friday morning.
VACB officials nabbed officer K.J. Harris while he was accepting a bribe from Alappuzha native U Mani.
Earlier, Mani moved an online application for a resort licence but failed to receive further communication from the office concerned. Later, he visited the tourism office in person.
However, the accused allegedly asked him to pay Rs 10,000 for issuing licence. Following this, Mani approached the Vigilance department with a complaint against Harris.
Following this, Vigilance caught Harris red-handed while accepting Rs 2,000 from Mani as an initial payment.
