Kochi: Alan Shuhaib, the accused in the Pantheerankavu UAPA case, was found overdosed on sleeping pills in his flat in Ernakulam. The incident happened on Wednesday morning.
Alan, who was in a weak condition, was immediately shifted to the hospital by his relatives. He is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Ernakulam.
As of now, police suspect this to be a suicide attempt. They say that Alan consumed more than 30 sleeping pills. However, the police have been unable to take Alan’s statement as he was in a state of infirmity. Reports also suggest that Alan sent a suicide note of sorts to his friends blaming the ‘system’ for his condition.
Alan, a Kozhikode native, is the accused in the Pantheerankavu UAPA case and is undergoing trial for the same.
