Akash, a visually impaired singer, experienced a truly magical moment when he had the opportunity to sing alongside M G Sreekumar during a reality show. It was a dream come true for him, a moment filled with pure joy and fulfilment.
For the past ten years, Akash has been studying classical music and performing at temple festivals. He is a huge fan of M G Sreekumar and often tunes into his songs on FM.
Recently, Akash had the opportunity to sing in front of M G Sreekumar while contesting a reality show. The singer enjoyed the song, joined him on the stage and sang with Akash. His parents, Biju and Sindhu, twin brother Adityan, and uncle Binu were also present to witness the moment.
Previously, Mathrubhumi had reported his desire to meet his favourite singer. The singer also assured to meet or call him. Akash and his twin brother, Adityan, were born blind. Adityan is autistic. They had a preterm birth. Even though every treatment turned out ineffective, Akash defied his visual impairment and is now a 12th grader at St. Dominic's School, Kanjirappally.
Despite his visual impairment, Akash confidently pedals his bicycle towards his home, covering over half a kilometre with ease. Akash learned to ride a bicycle through the training given by his uncle Binu. With years of training, he has memorised all the directions and every turn on the road.
While studying at Louis Braille Memorial Model School, Kudayathoor, his music teacher Sandhyadevi introduced him to the world of music. Later, he took musical training from Thekkethukavala M.K. Binu. Currently, he is learning music under the tutelage of Enthayar Jayan.
