Kinalur in Kozhikode has become the first choice of Kerala government for the proposed AIl India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). The fact that the project can proceed without seeking much private land as the government already owns a large portion of land here is the major advantage.
The location is well connected via road and supply of water and electricity are abundant.
The file concerning AIIMS is currently with the union finance ministry after the health ministry approved it. With the financial approval, the central team will visit the location. If the team gives a satisfactory report, AIIMS will become a reality in Kerala.
