
Balussery: Kerala Health Minister Veena George confirmed that the first AIIMS allotted for the state will be set up in Kinaloor estate in Balussery. The minister, who visited the Balussery Taluk Hospital on Thursday to evaluate the progress of the Aardram project, reaffirmed that the AIIMS hospital will be set up in the region, while interacting with the media.
Veena George told media that she has already held a discussion with the Union Health Minister regarding the setting up of the hospital in Kerala. Similarly, Pinarayi Vijayan has communicated with Narendra Modi the need for setting up AIIMS hospital in the state. It is known that the central health ministry has already forwarded a file regarding this to the union finance ministry.
On the occasion, Veena George evaluated the development works in the taluk hospital done with the KIIFB aid worth Rs 23 crores. MLA Sachin Dev briefed upon the future plans for the hospital.
Balussery block panchayat president VK Anitha, health director Dr KJ Reena, district medical officer Dr Rajaram and other officials of the health department were present at the taluk hospital on the occasion. The health minister interacted with the patients in the hospital as well.
