Thiruvananthapuram: If Indian National League (INL) cannot bring its state general secretary Kasim Irikkur and state president A P Abdul Wahab together, it will be tough to retain their position in LDF. However, Ahamed Devarkovil may be able to continue as minister for now.

The party was split following clashes at the state meet held on Sunday. Both leaders have been trading charges for quite some time and CPM warned of action if it continues. However, that did not yield any result.

CPM may decide to ’take back’ the LDF membership of INL. The party, which has been staying with the left front for decades was given membership only in 2018. The party officially received assembly tickets in 2021 polls and their lone MLA made it to the cabinet.

CPM will clarify its position when both factions give a written explanation to the LDF convenor.
