Kothamangalam: Police nabbed two Muvattupuzha natives in connection with moral policing-related attack that happened on Sunday. The arrested individuals are Shameer(42) and Navas(39).
The incident happened on Sunday around 8:30 pm. A Kanjirappally youngster and his female friend, a dental college student, were travelling on a motorcycle. The two Muvattupuzha natives stopped the motorcycle and quizzed them. The duo asked the youngster about his relationship with the girl. They also asked whether the girl was minor and argued that she was not an adult. As the scene escalated, the youngster sent the girl in an auto-rickshaw.
Following this, the duo attacked the youngster and he suffered injuries to his leg. The duo also took away his bag containing items like driving license, ATM card, and cash.
Later, the youngster lodged a police complaint. Police initiated a probe over the matter and CCTV visuals retrieved from the region led to the arrest. Police said that the bag and money were recovered from the house of one of the accused.
