
Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance Department has sought additional time for the investigation into the allegations against ADGP M R Ajith Kumar. The request for an extension of two more months has been made to record the statements of additional witnesses.
The Vigilance is investigating allegations of illegal acquisition of wealth. The case will be considered again on March 25.
After completing the preliminary inquiry and evidence collection, the Vigilance had questioned ADGP M R Ajith Kumar. The ADGP maintained in his statement that he did not possess any illegal assets. He had also handed over documents related to the construction of his house in Kowdiar to the Vigilance.
The initial duration granted for the Vigilance investigation was six months. Earlier, there were indications that the investigation report might be submitted soon, following the recording of Ajith Kumar's statement. It was P V Anvar who had raised the allegations of illegal wealth acquisition against Ajith Kumar.
