Chennai: Allegations of sexual harassment against female artists in the Malayalam film industry have been coming out steadily following the release of the Hema Committee report, tarnishing the image of the stars in the eyes of the public. On Saturday, South Indian film star Radhika Sarathkumar made shocking statements regarding the latest controversy, revealing that nude visuals of actresses were captured by hidden cameras placed in caravans.
Speaking to a news channel, she claimed to have witnessed men watching nude videos of female artists on a mobile phone at a film shoot.
"I saw some men laughing while watching a video on a mobile phone. When I inquired, I was told that the men were watching nude visuals of artists changing their clothes, which had been recorded by hidden cameras in the caravan. These videos were reportedly organized in separate folders under the names of the actresses. By entering an actress's name, one could access her specific visuals," Radhika said.
"Frightened by the situation, I avoided using the caravan after this incident. I even shouted and warned people that I would slap them with my footwear if it happened again," she added.
"I had seen people knocking on the doors of actresses. Many girls had come to my room seeking help from these predators," Radhika said.
Although the actress has discussed the incident, she has not specified when or where it occurred. She also noted that similar problems exist in other industries.
The actress has recently appeared in Malayalam films such as Pavi Caretaker, Ittimani, Ramaleela, and Gambinos.
