Kochi: In connection with the actress abduction case, actor Dileep lodged a complaint against investigation officer Baiju Paulose to the Chief Minister and state police chief. The new revelations of director Balachandra Kumar were the result of a conspiracy between Kumar and Baiju, Dileep pointed out in the complaint.
Dileep also alleged that Kumar’s statement was plotted by Baiju, in order to sabotage the trial. The petition for further investigation was filed in the trial court on the same day Baiju Paulose was supposed to be cross-examined as a prosecution witness, added the actor in his letter to the CM and state police chief.
The resignation of the special prosecutor is also to halt the trial procedures. The phone call details of Balachandra Kumar and Baiju Paulose have to be checked and the request for a further probe should be withdrawn, Dileep said in the letter.
A total of 202 witnesses have been cross-examined till date. New stories are being cooked up to cover the mistakes of the prosecution that surfaced during the probe. Meanwhile, the trial court has checked around 500 documents submitted by the prosecution. Only the investigation officer and a few witnesses are left to be interrogated.
The revelation of Balachandra Kumar came up during the release of his new film ‘Keshu, Ee Veedinte Nadhan’. The actor wrote that the director Kumar had a vendetta over him as he refused to give a date to Kumar.
