Kochi: Minister J Chinchu Rani has informed that the police would be directed to nab the culprits who throw acid on cows at Chullikandam in Kavalangad village. The minister responded on the matter after Mathrubhumi.com published news about acid attack on cows. She assured that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
The Minister said that no complaints were received regarding acid attack on cows so far. She came to know about such an incident through the news reports. It is a brutal act against poor animals. Only those who have a criminal mind can do such an act, added the minister.
She informed that a board will be formed to report the cruelties against the animals and to arrest the culprits involved in such acts. The procedures for this is in progress. After its formation, the board will collect the complaints with the help of police in the concerned areas, the minister said.
Within one and half years, 12 cows were attacked with acid in Chullikandam of Kavalangad village. It took several months to treat the cows with medications, but the criminals attacked them again.
