Kozhikode: Police will record statements of Thottumukkam native Balakrishnan in connection with the complaint he filed against now-suspended CPM leader and former Thiruvambady MLA George M Thomas. Serious accusations have been levelled against the former legislative assembly member, including brokering a settlement for an accused under POCSO Act. The leader is accused of buying a plot for a police officer who allegedly helped settle the sexual assault case. He is also accused of extracting money from quarry owners.

Balakrishan has demanded an investigation into George M Thomas' activities over 10 years, when he served as Thiruvambady MLA. His statement against the former MLA will be recorded at the Vadakara Rural SP office.

It should be noted that CPM had earlier taken disciplinary action against George M Thomas for misconduct.
