A A Rahim, Jebi Mather and P Santhosh Kumar elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha


The LDF fielded CPI(M) State committee member A A Rahim and CPI leader P Santhosh Kumar won the two seats.

Thiruvananthapuram: A A Rahim, Jebi Mather and P Santhosh Kumar were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. The election commission declared their victory.

The scrutiny of the nomination paper for the election to the three seats, that will become vacant on April 2 following the retirement of members, was done on Thursday. According to the capacity of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, LDF could participate in two seats and UDF in one.

On March 18, two ruling LDF candidates filed their nominations. The LDF fielded CPI(M) State committee member A A Rahim and CPI leader P Santhosh Kumar for the two seats.

There was no contest as both fronts filed their nominations only for the winning seats.
