Malappuram: A UKG student was prevented from attending school by the headmistress of a school in Chelambra, Malappuram, for being late in paying the school bus fee. The headmistress of Chelambra ALP school reportedly instructed that the UKG student should not be allowed to board the bus because the fee had not been paid. The shocking allegation is that the school bus left the 5-year-old on the roadside without even informing the parents.

After the other students got on the bus and left, the 5-year-old, walked back home crying. The headmistress took this harsh action because the parents had delayed paying ₹1,000 bus fee. The family has lodged complaints with the Education Minister, Child Rights Commission, and the police, demanding action.

On Monday morning, as usual, the child was waiting for the school bus when the headmistress instructed that the child should not be allowed to board since the payment hadn’t been made. She reportedly told the driver not to take the child. Seeing the child crying and walking home, neighbours helped him reach home safely.

Later, the school authorities and PTA members visited the family and apologised. However, since the child has been mentally distressed by the incident, the family has decided not to send him back to that school.
