Thiruvananthapuram: A 36-day-old baby was found dead in a well in Pothencode here on Wednesday. The body of Sreedev, son of Pothencode natives, was found in a well near their house. 

Following the incident, the police have taken the child's mother, Saritha, into custody. At around 3 a.m., the child's father contacted police to say that his child was missing. 

A subsequent search led the police to the well. Later, the fire force unit arrived at the spot and retrieved the body from the well.
