Ambalapuzha: The death of 10-year-old cycle polo player Nida Fathima from Alappuzha still remains a mystery three months after her untimely demise in Nagpur.
Her family alleged that neither the police lodged an FIR nor furnished the forensic lab report following her death. As a result, the family is forming an action committee to address the issue.

Nida Fathima, a member of the Kerala Cycle Polo team, died under mysterious circumstances while attending the National Junior Cycle Polo Championship in Nagpur on December 22, 2022.
Family says Nida reached Nagpur on December 20. A day later, she complained of uneasiness, started vomiting, and was rushed to the hospital. She died after her condition worsened, reportedly after receiving an injection.
She was part of one of the two teams that arrived in Nagpur representing two separate cycle polo associations from Kerala. Based on a court order, Nida Fathima's team was eventually allowed to compete in the championship. It was alleged that the Cycle Polo Federation and organisers failed to provide proper accommodation and food for the team, forcing them to stay in a temporary shelter. Though the federation denied these allegations, the family demanded a probe into the death.
