Kozhikode: According to government data, 9,585 job aspirants got placed through employability centres under Employment Exchange, in the year 2021-22.

“We are able to sensitise youngsters about opportunities in private sector, with the coming of employability centres. Our plan is to enhance the same by organizing mega job fairs,” said PK Mohandas, joint director of Employment Exchange.

Trends suggest that favourable stance of big companies are attracting more aspirants to enrol with employability centres. 81,763 individuals from various districts took part in last year’s job fair. A total of 883 companies including IT giants like Wipro and Cognizant participated in the fair.

Not just IT companies, but also players from sectors like insurance, banking, education, health, marketing, sales, engineering, food delivery, textiles and jewellery are taking part in the job fair.

Meanwhile, in the last six years, the number of persons who got job through employability centres is 86,765.
