Kozhikode: Horticorp chairman S Venugopal informed that 1000 gramasree horti stores will be set up across Kerala soon. Franchises will be established under the supervision of Horti Corporation. 250 stores will be opened before Onam. 20 stores will be opened in Kozhikode district. 

Products of farmer producer companies, and public sector companies will be distributed through such outlets. The stores will procure fruits and vegetables from farmers at prices higher than the market rates, and will sell it to consumers at fair prices. Marayoor Sharkara (sugar), honey, Kuttanad rice, and Kerajam virgin coconut oil, are among the several items that will be available at the horti stores.

Horticorp had recently cleared its pending bills up to December 2022. Regional manager T R Shaji also attended the press conference.
