Kozhikode: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday said the way the new Parliament building was inaugurated reflects the intention of the regime to make India a theocratic state. He slashed out at RSS and BJP-led Centre for their "anti-constitutional pursuits".
"Media and activists should not be neutral at a time when efforts are made to destroy secularism," he said. According to Vijayan, those who maintain neutrality in these times are siding with evil.
He was addressing the gathering at Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) state unit's memorial meet on the death anniversary of its past president MP Veerendra Kumar.
Vijayan remembered Veerendra Kumar for his socialist pursuits in the political and cultural realms. He noted that if Veerendra Kumar was alive, then he would have condemned the acts that are against the country.
CM also took the opportunity to elaborate on the alleged apathy of the Centre over various matters affecting Kerala.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Minister for Power K Krishnankutty, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha, MLA KP Mohanan, Kozhikode Mayor Beena Philip, and LJD State President MV Shreyams Kumar, among others, were present.
