Kozhikode (Kerala): In a major development, senior leader P Jayarajan has been inducted into the CPM state secretariat as part of the party’s major leadership restructuring initiative.
The high-level elevation marks a prominent comeback for Jayarajan, who had previously faced internal demotions in what was viewed as a disciplinary and corrective measure by the party hierarchy.
Joining him in the newly reshuffled secretariat are former ministers V Sivankutty and M B Rajesh, signaling a strategic realignment of key party figures within the top decision-making body.CPM Reshuffle: State Secretariat Reorganised;
Reports also suggest that Thomas Isaac and T P Ramakrishnan have been excluded from the secretariat, though an official announcement regarding this is yet to be made.
Nine new members have been inducted into the State Committee as invitees, with a strong focus on bringing in youth leaders. The new invitees are M Vijin, Jake C Thomas, P S Sanjeev, Adarsh M Saji, M Sivaprasad, Prabha Varma, O S Ambika, N Sukanya and Zubaida Isaac.
These decisions were taken at the extended State Committee meeting currently underway in Kozhikode as part of corrective measures following the assembly election defeat.
The party has been facing intense internal criticism following the electoral setback, with criticism directed against State Secretary M V Govindan and Pinarayi Vijayan from various quarters. The reorganisation of the State Secretariat comes against this backdrop.
