
Noida: A 37-year-old woman suffered a spinal injury after falling from a 10-foot-high railing while attempting to escape an attacking dog in a Greater Noida West housing society, police said on Tuesday.
A video of the incident, which surfaced on social media, shows the woman climbing a railing in a bid to outrun the dog but losing her balance and falling to the other side.
The incident took place on Monday at the Supertech Ecovillage Society, where the woman, identified as Shayed Athar, was taking a morning walk. Mandira Mitra, another resident of the society, has been booked in connection with the matter.
Bisrakh Police Station In-charge Manoj Kumar Singh said, "Shayed Athar, a resident of N-2 tower of the Supertech Ecovillage society, was taking a walk on Monday morning when the pet dog of Mandira Mitra, another resident of the society, came towards Athar to attack."
Athar is currently recovering at a hospital. PTI
