A man’s video alleging that his wife eloped with their children’s tuition teacher has gone viral, sparking outrage and debate on social media

A video showing a man alleging that his wife eloped with their children’s tuition teacher has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage and debate. The incident came to public attention after a video surfaced on X showing the woman’s husband addressing the camera while holding a file containing documents and photographs of his family.
The video quickly gained traction online and led to strong reactions from viewers across social media platforms.
Visibly distraught but composed, the man shared his side of the story in clear terms. He identified himself and named those involved in the incident.
He said, “My name is Manish Tiwari. My wife’s name is Roshni Rani. Shubham Kumar Mehta, who is the tuition master, would come to our house. She eloped with him, leaving me and our two kids behind. Now I don’t want her back."
How did the relationship allegedly develop?
According to Manish, the teacher had used tuition classes as a reason to make frequent visits to their home. He stated that his wife’s sudden disappearance came as a complete shock, as there were no visible signs of trouble within the household.
The couple has two young children, and Manish reportedly worked as a daily wage labourer to support the family.
How did social media users react?
The video drew widespread attention and strong reactions online. Many users questioned how trust within a household could be broken so completely. Others criticised the teacher, stating that someone entrusted with shaping young minds should not betray a family’s faith.
Has a similar incident been reported earlier?
A similar case had surfaced online earlier this year. In April, a woman named Sapna Devi from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh allegedly eloped, not with a stranger but with her would be son in law.
Her daughter, Shivani, was scheduled to marry Rahul on April 16. Wedding invitations had already been printed and preparations were underway. However, just days before the wedding, on April 8, Sapna Devi allegedly left her home with cash and jewellery. Around the same time, Rahul also went missing.
The matter came to light after the woman’s husband, Jitendra Kumar, filed a missing person complaint. When the couple later returned, Aligarh police said they counselled them for nearly 12 hours.
Officials reportedly made the woman speak to her husband and family members, but she remained firm in her decision to stay with Rahul. Since both individuals were adults, the police eventually allowed them to leave together.
