Hyderabad: A 23-year-old woman, who had completed her MBBS, allegedly died by suicide in Hyderabad after her family members objected to her keeping a pet cat, police said on Saturday.
The victim, a resident of Alwal, reportedly ended her life by hanging at her home on Friday.
According to police, the woman had been preparing for further studies after her MBBS and had been caring for the pet cat for the past three months.
However, her parents reportedly objected to her keeping the cat, which led her to take the extreme step.
Earlier, on March 18, a 20-year-old student in Meerpet allegedly committed suicide, reportedly distressed over the death of her pet cat.
