Washington, DC [US]: Praising the US-India partnership, the White House stated that President Joe Biden regards the relationship between the United States and India as one of the most consequential globally. Both nations collaborate closely on crucial priorities, including the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD).

In a press briefing on Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre highlighted that the US and India work together on significant matters, such as the QUAD and the US-India initiative focused on critical and emerging technologies.

Jean-Pierre emphasised the US's intention to expand its "critically important partnership" with India. "We aim to broaden our critical partnership and enhance its benefits for the American people, working towards a more prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific and global environment," she said.

The QUAD, a diplomatic alliance including the US, India, Australia, and Japan, is dedicated to promoting an open, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region that is inclusive and resilient. Recently, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa, and Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong participated in a Quad Foreign Ministers' meeting in Tokyo on July 29.

In their joint statement, the leaders reiterated their commitment to upholding and strengthening the international order for global benefit. They look forward to India hosting the next Quad Leaders' Summit later this year and the US hosting the subsequent Quad Foreign Ministers' meeting in 2025.

The joint statement underscored the bloc's efforts to advance a positive and practical agenda supporting the Indo-Pacific region's sustainable development, stability, and prosperity. It emphasized the importance of allowing all countries and people in the region to exercise free choice in cooperation and trade based on partnership, equality, and mutual respect. (Agencies)
