Jammu: The tension gripped Jammu and several northern states on Thursday night as Pakistan launched a series of coordinated drone and missile attacks, triggering panic across border villages. According to Defence sources, eight missiles were launched targeting Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia sectors in Jammu—all successfully intercepted by Indian Air Defence units.
"Sounds of shelling and firing can be heard. Smoke was seen in the sky. There is a complete blackout. We have full faith in our army," said a resident from Jammu, describing the chaos as explosions echoed across the region.
The attacks come just a day after Indian forces reportedly carried out precision strikes on terror camps across the border, indicating a sharp escalation in hostilities. Late-night drone activity and missile launches were also reported from parts of Rajasthan and Punjab, including Pathankot and Jaisalmer.
One drone was intercepted near the Jammu Civil Airport, while other incoming threats were neutralised mid-air. Explosions and drone sightings triggered high alert in multiple locations, and security forces have since intensified surveillance across border zones.
