Content creator R Gaurav wins hearts online after praising the exceptional cleanliness of Southern Railway's Madurai-Rameswaram passenger train.

A young content creator’s video praising the cleanliness of Southern Railway during a train journey through Tamil Nadu has gone viral. Sharing his experience aboard the Madurai-Rameswaram passenger train, R Gaurav noted that the journey made him realise how exceptionally well-maintained the Southern Railway network is.
Gaurav, a content creator, has also shared several videos on his Instagram account comparing the Northern and Southern Railway zones.
He highlighted that spotless toilets, clean washbasins, tidy coaches and litter-free platforms and tracks are the hallmarks of Southern Railway.
"Traveling from Madurai to Rameswaram on a regular passenger train was an incredible experience. Usually, we only see this level of cleanliness in premium or luxury trains. But this journey proved that even ordinary passenger trains can offer top-notch cleanliness and service," the youth wrote alongside his video.
"What impressed me the most was how clean the entire train was. The seats were pristine, the floors were spotless, and there was no garbage anywhere. Even the toilets, which are usually a major concern for passengers, were clean. The washbasin, sink, and surrounding areas were not messy at all. There was no overflowing water or accumulated waste," he added.
The video has garnered widespread attention, with numerous users reacting to it. Most comments lauded the railway staff responsible for maintaining the trains and tracks. "South India is always like this," read one comment. Meanwhile, several others pointed out that the lack of gutkha and pan masala usage among passengers in the region is the primary reason why the trains remain so clean.
