Vijayawada: A 46-year-old woman died after falling into a large vessel of boiling sambar during a Vinayaka Chavithi annadanam programme in Vijayawada.

A video of the accident, in which the woman can be heard screaming after the fall, has now surfaced, bringing renewed attention to the incident.

The woman, identified as Sujatha, was helping with cooking arrangements for the food distribution programme organised as part of the Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations.

The accident took place on Sunday morning when Sujatha was reportedly carrying sambar. She accidentally fell into the large vessel containing the boiling preparation, suffering severe burn injuries.

People at the programme reportedly noticed what had happened immediately and rushed her to a hospital for emergency treatment.

Sujatha was admitted with extensive burn injuries and remained under treatment. However, her condition later deteriorated, and she died at the hospital on Monday morning.
