New Delhi: Actor and TVK chief Vijay appeared at the CBI headquarters in Delhi on Monday, where he was questioned for nearly six hours about the Karur stampede on September 27, 2025, which claimed 41 lives and injured over 60.

Follow-Up Appearance Scheduled

The CBI has indicated that Vijay will need to return for further questioning to clarify additional queries. He had requested a rescheduling from Tuesday due to the Pongal festival, which the agency approved.

Vijay arrived in a black Range Rover, and heavy security was deployed around the CBI office to manage crowds and fans. Despite the measures, about 40 fans managed to approach the building for a glimpse of the actor-politician.

Other Individuals Questioned

The federal agency also questioned former Tamil Nadu ADG (Law and Order) S Davidson Devasirvatham and several TVK office bearers as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Karur stampede probe is under strict Supreme Court supervision. A three-member supervisory committee, headed by former Justice Ajay Rastogi, ensures impartiality and transparency. The court emphasized that the public must have faith in a fair investigation.
