New Delhi: Passengers travelling on a Delhi-bound Vande Bharat Express were left stunned after water began leaking from the roof of a coach, drenching seats and luggage. A video of the incident, now circulating widely on social media, shows water dripping heavily onto the seats as a visibly shocked passenger looks on.

Sharing the video, the user wrote, "A complimentary "waterfall" service unlocked in the Delhi-bound 22415 Vande Bharat express caught the passengers off-raincoat." However, Mathrubhumi English has not independently verified the authenticity of the video.

Interestingly, this is not the first time such a leak has been reported on the same Vande Bharat train. In 2024, a similar incident was caught on camera and went viral, drawing public criticism. At the time, the official handle of Northern Railway responded to the footage by attributing the issue to a temporary technical fault.

“Slight water leakage was observed in coach because of temporary blockage of pipes! The same was attended to and rectified by the staff on the train. The inconvenience caused is regretted,” Northern Railway had stated.

The renewed attention to the leak coincided with light rainfall across several parts of Delhi and adjoining NCR areas on Tuesday, providing some respite from the ongoing heatwave.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), "Light rainfall is very likely to occur at Delhi (Narela, Bawana, Alipur, Kanjhawala, Rohini, Badili, Pitampura, Mundaka, Pashchim Vihar, Rajauri Garden, Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, IGI Airport), NCR (Bahadurgarh, Gurugram), Safidon, Jind, Panipat."
