Karnataka: In the early hours of Saturday, a van collided with a parked truck near Nelogi Cross in the Kalaburagi district of Karnataka, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and injuring ten others, according to the Kalaburagi police.

The accident occurred around 3:30am. All the deceased were identified as residents of the Bagalkote district. The injured were immediately taken to Kalaburagi Hospital for medical treatment.

This fatal crash comes shortly after another deadly accident in Karnataka earlier this week. Four members of a family were killed in the Mandya district on the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway. The family was travelling to Piriyapattana when a state transport bus struck their car from behind near the Tubinakere Exit. One victim died on the spot, while the other three succumbed to their injuries in hospital. According to SP Mallikarjun Baldandi of Mandya district, the car had slowed down to avoid the toll when the collision occurred.
