The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced an upcoming feature in the Aadhaar app that allows residents to update their mobile number linked to Aadhaar from the comfort of their homes.
Using OTP verification and Face Authentication, users can complete the process digitally without standing in long queues at Aadhaar centres. Early adopters can share feedback via feedback.app@uidai.net.in. The app is available for Android and iOS users, ensuring secure and convenient Aadhaar management. UIDAI’s move aligns with the Digital India initiative, enhancing accessibility and safeguarding personal data.
UIDAI has launched a new feature in its Aadhaar app to simplify the process of updating mobile numbers linked to Aadhaar. Users can authenticate their identity using a combination of One-Time Passwords (OTP) and facial recognition, providing a fully digital method without the need to visit physical Aadhaar centres.
This update is part of UIDAI’s broader digital empowerment strategy under the “Mera Aadhaar Meri Pehchaan” campaign, prioritising user convenience and data security. The app is accessible on Android and iOS devices, and users are encouraged to provide early feedback through feedback.app@uidai.net.in. This development aims to streamline Aadhaar services, reduce in-person visits, and strengthen the integrity of personal information in line with India’s national digital infrastructure objectives.
