Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh): A one-and-a-half-year-old girl died after accidentally falling into a pot of boiling milk in a school kitchen on Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at Ambedkar Gurukula School in Bukkarayasamudram village, Anantapur district, and was captured on CCTV. The footage showed 17-month-old Akshita accompanying her mother, Krishnaveni, who works as a security guard at the school under the Seva Supreme Agency, inside the kitchen.
The milk, prepared for distribution to students, had been left under a ceiling fan to cool. The video shows Akshita and her mother briefly leaving the kitchen before the toddler re-entered alone, following a cat that approached the container.
Akshita stumbled and fell into the pot, suffering severe burns over her body. Her mother immediately pulled her out and rushed her to Anantapur Government Hospital. Following doctors’ advice, she was transferred to Kurnool Government Hospital for specialised treatment, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
