Tamil Nadu:Thalapathy Vijay has officially stepped into politics with the launch of his party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam. The inaugural conference took place on October 27 in Vikravandi.

Vijay’s supporters gathered in huge numbers, and excitement filled the venue as the actor arrived to deliver his first speech as a politician. Many fans and the public are looking forward to hearing his political vision and understanding his goals for Tamil Nadu.

At the first political gathering of TVK, the party's treasurer, Venkatraman, led a pledge for TVK members and supporters of actor-turned-politician Vijay. This pledge emphasised the party's dedication to its core values and Vijay’s vision for Tamil Nadu, creating a strong sense of unity and purpose among the crowd as they rallied together behind their new leader and his mission in politics.

He marked a key moment by raising the party flag on a tall 100-foot flagpole. Standing on stage, Vijay pressed a button to hoist the flag, symbolising his dedication to the party's goals and values. Supporters cheered as the flag went up. He also paid a floral tribute to Tamil Nadu’s revered freedom fighters.

Members from the film industry have also extended their warm wishes to Vijay, congratulating him on this significant step.

Earlier this year, Vijay, currently one of the top stars in Tamil cinema with a history of blockbuster hits and a dedicated fanbase, confirmed his political aspirations, announcing in February that he would enter the political arena.
