New Delhi: Actor Preity Zinta has voiced her support for students protesting over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, while urging the Centre to initiate talks before his health worsens.

Taking to Instagram, the actor appealed to the government to engage with Wangchuk and the protesting student bodies, as the activist continues his hunger strike of more than 20 days at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

'I hope our govt starts a meaningful dialogue with Sonam Wangchuk and the student bodies so his health does not deteriorate any further! Please end your fast Sonam. Your health is as important as this fight. You and the students are fighting for the future of India and for our youth,' Zinta wrote.

Expressing solidarity with the movement, she added, 'My heartfelt & unwavering support to every student & to Sonam in this fight to uplift & upgrade our educational system. More power to all of you.'

The actor's remarks come as the Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered Wangchuk's immediate transfer from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital, allowing him to receive treatment at the private facility of his choice.

A Division Bench led by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia passed the order after the Centre informed the court that it had no objection to the transfer.

The court also directed Medanta to constitute a dedicated team of doctors to supervise Wangchuk's treatment and instructed the activist to comply with the medical advice and treatment protocol prescribed by the hospital.

The order followed the court's review of medical reports and consultations with doctors from AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital and Wangchuk's treating team, who agreed that he required continuous medical monitoring.
