SpiceJet is all set to launch non-stop flights between Ahmedabad and Sharjah starting February 5, further strengthening air connectivity between India and the United Arab Emirates. This new service marks another milestone in the airline’s international expansion and reflects growing travel demand between the two countries.

With the addition of Sharjah, SpiceJet will now serve two destinations in the UAE, the other being Dubai. The airline said this move is part of its strategy to expand its international network and offer more convenient travel options to passengers flying to the Middle East.

The Ahmedabad–Sharjah flights will operate five days a week, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The new route is expected to benefit business travellers, leisure tourists, and the large Indian expatriate community living and working in the UAE, who frequently travel between the two countries.

Ahmedabad is one of India’s major economic and cultural centres, with strong trade ties, tourism links, and a close connection with the Indian diaspora in the UAE. Sharjah’s inclusion in SpiceJet’s route map is therefore seen as a strategic step that supports both business and people-to-people travel.

Announcing the new service, Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, said Sharjah’s position as the cultural capital of the UAE and its importance as a regional hub make it a valuable addition to the airline’s network. He added that the launch reflects the rising demand for travel between India and the UAE and underlines SpiceJet’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity.

Sharjah, the UAE’s third-largest emirate, shares borders with all six other emirates, giving it a unique geographic advantage. The city is known for its rich cultural heritage, featuring numerous museums, historic mosques, and archaeological sites along its eastern coastline that date back to the second millennium BCE, making it an attractive destination for tourists as well as business travellers.
