New Delhi: Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh visited Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Tuesday night to enquire about the health of activist Sonam Wangchuk, sources said. 

The visit comes as Wangchuk continues his indefinite hunger strike, despite being shifted from Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital following directions issued by the Delhi High Court earlier in the day.

According to sources, the two Union ministers met doctors. They sought updates on Wangchuk's condition after his transfer to the private hospital, where he is currently under the supervision of a specialised medical team.

Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite fast since June 28, has emerged as the face of the ongoing student-led agitation over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

Even after being admitted to Medanta, the activist has decided to continue his hunger strike.

His wife, Gitanjali Angmo, earlier confirmed that Wangchuk would not end his fast and would continue the protest in solidarity with students who were allegedly injured during Monday's clashes with Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, thousands of protesters gathered once again at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday, a day after violence broke out during the 'Sansad Chalo' march towards Parliament.

Organisers of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which is leading the agitation, said the protest would continue indefinitely, although no further marches towards Parliament would be organised for now.

The group alleged that demonstrators were subjected to excessive police force during Monday's protest.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi High Court ordered Wangchuk's immediate transfer from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital after hearing a petition filed by his wife.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia accepted the Centre's submission that it had no objection to the transfer.

The court directed Medanta Hospital to constitute a specialised medical team to monitor Wangchuk's health and instructed the activist to follow medical advice while remaining under continuous supervision.
