The Narendra Modi government on Monday opened a centralized platform, which is designed to streamline the registration and monitoring of complaints related to sexual harassment in the workplace.

Launched by Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi, the SHe-Box portal is an initiative aimed at preventing sexual harassment of women in Indian workplaces. 

As a unified platform, it serves as a comprehensive database, housing information on Internal Committees (ICs) and Local Committees (LCs) established across both public and private sectors. 

This centralized repository facilitates easy access to crucial data, supporting the government's efforts to create a safer and more inclusive work environment for women nationwide.

The Union Minister said, "This initiative furthers the government’s commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive working environment for women across India." 

She also assured that the portal is designed to protect the privacy of complainants, ensuring that personal information remains confidential.

The SHe-Box portal revolutionizes the process of reporting sexual harassment complaints, providing a single-window access for women across India, regardless of their employment status or sector. This inclusive platform caters to women in organized and unorganized sectors, public and private organizations, and even domestic workers.

The portal offers a comprehensive repository of resources related to the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, including handbooks, training modules, and advisory documents in both Hindi and English, available for free download.

Additionally, the portal features awareness-raising videos about the Act and its provisions. The Women and Child Development ministry hailed the SHe-Box portal as a significant milestone in implementing the Act, ensuring that complaints are not only registered but also actively monitored, providing a robust framework for addressing workplace harassment.

Furthermore, the Ministry launched a newly designed website, creating a cohesive visual identity across digital platforms and enhancing engagement with national and global audiences. As digital platforms become the primary point of contact for citizens, the new website is poised to play a crucial role in maintaining a strong online presence.
